Our website requires an active userid in order to reserve a cabin or register for your stay. You are also asked for an email address when using the chatbot to communicate, though it doesn't require an active userid.
Occasionally, our members have trouble logging in when returning to the website, especially if it's been a long time since you were here. This forum post will give you instructions on resolving your trouble. You can also contact me (Gary) and I will try to help you through it.
There are three ways to log in to our website. Each time you return, you will need to use the same method.
1) Using your email address.
2) Using your Google account
3) Using your Facebook account
If you are using Google or Facebook, you must be logged in to those services in the web browser or mobile device from which you are trying to access our web page. I always use Google and I've never had a problem. I've never used Facebook but I'm fairly certain it is just like Google. If you use this method and your browser is logged in to Google or Facebook just click the appropriate button - you don't need yet another password. You shouldn't have to log into the website upon returning, it will remember.
I would highly recommend using one (never both) of those two features whenever you can on websites and places you log in - it will simplify your life.
If you log in with an email, say for example if I use info@betsyrossresort.com then you will have a few more steps.
First select the bottom button "Log in with Email"
If a dialog such as this pops up when you log in, I would suggest first being sure you have the correct password - otherwise you browser may remember the wrong password and make success more difficult. If you are confident, then by all means Save it - this also will simplify your experience (not your life as it is still another login account)
If after you enter your password and push the Log In button, you return to the same screen with the red text that reads "wrong email or password" then one of three things could have happened.
You logged in with a different method (email, facebook, and google will look like different email addresses)
Most likely, you set your password and didn't save it in a password manager (highly recommended for all of your passwords)
You have multiple email addresses and used the wrong one.
I think for the most part, the first one is easy to test, just change to something you would likely do. For example, I would never log into anything with Facebook because I seldom go there. I am always logged in to Google, so for me, I would always first try the Google button. If that doesn't work, I would go to the email option.
I usually start by assuming I have the correct email. Again, if you use a password manager, you will know which email you used (and quite likely wouldn't be reading this because it just worked). So if you click on the "forgot password button" you will come to the following screen.
This is going to send you an email with a link to create a new password.
You may need to refresh the browser where you are viewing your email
If you didn't receive this email, then the email you used IS NOT registered with the web page. You either used a different email, one of the other options, or you have never created a log in account.
notice the rules help to the left
And that should do it. Go back to the webpage and fill in the password. If logging in sends you to the home page you are in. And now would be a good time to Save this password in your browser. However - I still strongly recommend using a password manager.
In the process, you will notice "Wix" or "Wix.com". that is simply the toolset I used to create the webpage, including the authentication. It's not spam.
